Recently, while making an admittedly slightly to fast of a sharp right turn in my 1990 ford thunderbird, I hit a slight bump in the road and my driver’s side door popped open. I have been told that the hinge bolts are wearing out and need to be replaced, but would that stop this from happening again or is there probably a problem with the door latch mechanism that needs to be fixed? Also, after having the window re-glued to the motor mount in the door the automatic door lock no longer works and must be operated manually, while the passenger side door lock must be operated with the automatic door lock switch, not sure if that makes a differnce or not. Thanks for any help or information anyone could give me on this.
