I drive a 1995 Pontiac Trans Sport with just under 100,000 miles on it. It stalled while I was driving down the road (probably going about 45 mph) the other day. I pulled over, turned the car off, and then after a few minutes turned it back on with no problems. I’ve driven it a couple times since and have had no repeats. However, today I did notice that my battery gauge was reading a bit higher than normal. Not sure if that’s related, but I thought I should include it. Anyway, I’m wondering if I need to take it in to the shop or if that’s just something that’ll happen randomly because it’s so old or what. Anybody have any suggestions?
Original battery? Likely not.
Not knowing if the dash gauge is correct, I would have a full (in-car) load test done to ensure the alternator and the battery are working together as they should be.
You MAY just have bad ground connections.
Not the original alternator or battery. You think it’s something to do with them that caused my car to stall?
