We can blame this mess on Bing. He said the site needs more traffic but I don’t think this is what he meant.

And the hard part it is all different names, the 2nd one in this morning was an Ask Someone redirect…
I flag the very 1st run of them before I just sent PM’s to both mods/admin…
I know some years ago when I owned and ran a few forums, I could block spammers by email address, user name and IP address, 1st 2 can be difficult when making up new ones every time, but the IP was the best, but had some that would move locations (local) and spam again with a new IP…
I am sure this is overwhelming being hit by at least 300 spam topics and counting…
They might just have to do a reset to like 8 hours ago or something…
The very 1st ones were 7 hours ago…

The “Fakebook effect”:
Members/users of forums all over are flocking to the bottom of the barrel to argue and bicker over their favorite subjects (automotive, audio video sciene, gardening, whatever) in a largely unmoderated, anonymous space, and the bots creep in to fourms like weeds up through the cracks in sidewalks.
Hence the dearth of (legit) traffic forums like Cartalk Community need.

Volvo I was explaining forces at play that explain why we aren’t seeing the user increases that Bing desires. Of course nothing to do with Bing or any other individual, I did get that.
The reality is that more users are flocking to social media platforms and away from dedicated topic forums like these.
