I store my car outside every winter for 6 months. We live in a rural area. This year mice had made a nasty mess in my cabin filter. The filter was replaced but the air entering the car still has a mousy odor. I was told that placing lots of moth balls on top of the engine would discourage the mice from nesting in my engine/car- has this worked for anyone?
The moth balls may work to keep mice away, but since the fumes from moth balls are carcinogenic, you also have to consider what this will expose you and your passengers to. A better bet all-around is to sprinkle Cayenne Pepper around the engine compartment. Just be careful not to get it too near the air intake for the HVAC system.
