Suddenly started making this loud noise. Occours only when car is moving, doesn’t matter if its in gear or just rolling. Seems to get a bit quieter when moving faster. Any ideas what could it be?
Did you know that knowing the type of vehicle gives a clue what it might be?

Oh sorry. It’s a 2010 Volvo V50 1.6 diesel
If the parking brake isn’t used very often or at all, then have the rear brakes inspected.

The two times I’ve had noises like that on my Corolla, the first was a golf ball was rolling around in a trunk recess, second was rear brake shoe in need of replacement. Could be suspension problem of some sort as well. Strut mounts and sway bar links common source of weird sounds. Usually would correspond to going over bumps. Ask shop tech to push down hard on each rear corner, might give a clue.
