can you mix lithium and moly grease in same joint?
Is there a difference?
Which is better, please?
I would use the recommended grease for the joint. If you cannot find that info just remember that any grease is better than no grease at all. I don’t think there is a compatibility issue with lithium or moly.
It is quite possible, even probable, that your “moly” grease is lithium based…
I have always considered “Moly” all-purpose automotive grease to be suitable for any automotive application… Some mechanics don’t like it because it’s black and nasty to work with…
“Lithium” refers to the base or “soap” from which grease is made. “Moly” (molybdenum) is an additive (anti-friction) used in grease.
