Lincoln engine stall

My 2000 Lincoln will occasionally crank and immediately stall out. It will do this several times. Then it may work perfectly for 3 weeks and start again. Today it stalled out in the middle of the highway. Is this something I can fix or do I need to hook it to a computer for diagnostic readings?

Things to check for are spark, fuel pressure and fuel injector voltage. They need to be checked when it’s malfunctioning. That’s the hard part.

There are only a hundred or so things that it could be. An easy and nearly free thing to try is to clean the MAF sensor.
Another quick thought is the IAC. However, that wouldn’t cause a stall while on the road, unless your foot was off of the gas pedal at the time.

Thank you very much! We will have those things checked first.
