There seem to be issues with the electronic windows in my daughter’s Kia. When we test drove some of the used vehicles this seemed to be an issue with many of them. What’s up and can it be fixed satisfactorily?
I wasn’t aware that this was a Kia issue…I am now!
Electric windows usually fail because either the regulator motor dies or the wiring harness becomes fray, fractured or breaks (from stress) where it goes through the openings from the body assembly to the soor assembly. The harness has to flex there, and that can cause problems. Whether it’s readily and affordably repairable depends on the exact cause and (if it’s the motor) whether the motor can be replaced as a seperate piece without replacing the entire regulator assembly.
