If anyone has had trouble with peeling or flaking of their paint on a Kia please go here and file a complaint. The more complaints that are filed for the same issue the better the chances are that they’re forced to issue a recall. At the very least they may offer an extended warranty to take care of the paint. I read that Hyundai has already issued extended warranties for certain cars with white paint.

That’s only for safety problems.
They will not issue a Recall for defective paint
Maybe not a recall but they have issued extended warranties for the same thing happening on Hyundais.
I see these cars from time to time with large portions of the paint gone. In most cases though the gray primer is still intact telling me it was a problem with bonding of the top coat. It would drive me nuts but some people just don’t seem to care.
Similarly, I see a LOT of vehicles whose headlights are covered with a cataract-like haze, even though relatively cheap fixes are available at Walmart and other retailers.
Paint problems are mostly cosmetic, but those compromised headlights are a definite safety hazard for folks who drive at night. But, they don’t seem to care. Or, they are so dense that they’re not even aware of a problem with their own vehicle.
Called “patina”, some people find it desirable, but not me.
My BIL pulled 62 fairlane out of the Arizona desert. He called it patina and was going to leave it that way. Couldn’t help himself though and ended up repainting it to look factory fresh.
