Jaguar EV; more characters please

When the XK-E was introduced folks proclaimed it stunning and beautiful. No danger of that with the new one.

It is a complete woke/DEI rebrand at Jaguar according to the head of strategy… They are about to find out, like a lot of others, if you go woke, you go broke… Yeah, how has that worked out so far, well a big majority of America is tired of all the DEI hire BS… Dude even said that they have 15+ DEI groups… Me thinks a bunch of people will be jobless before this is over… lol

Speaking in October at the Attitude Awards, a celebration of LGBTQ+ icons for which Jaguar is a sponsor, Jaguar’s head of brand strategy Santini Pietrosanti shone a light on Jaguar’s recent push towards inclusivity and adoption of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs.

“At Jaguar we are passionate about our people, and we are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive and unified culture that is representative not only of the people who use our products, but in a society in which we all live, a culture in which our employees can bring their authentic selves to work,” he said

“And we are on a transformative journey of our own, driven by a belief in diversity, inclusion, creativity, policy and most importantly, action. We’ve established over 15 DEI groups,” Pietrosanti added.

The DEI (D Jr, Eric, Ivanka) employer in chief was re-elected this past Nov.
Woke means educated, that supports the Constitution.

Non of which has anything to do with Jaguar except that Kash (cash) Patel’s family origins are from India.

If I go broke reading books, so be it.

I am not saying anything else about the subject (after this post), just posted what is happening at Jaguar and why they just did what they did…
And just like Bud Light, Disney and many more, they found out nobody (maybe a hand full) want’s DEI, even the news groups are loosing viewers, and starting to realize maybe they were wrong, and most of those viewers are now watching the competition…
Over and out…

After seeing what they came up with, I think the designers were very impressed with the movie Barbie. Good luck finding a few thousand buyers. Delusional comes to mind but maybe they’ll throw in a few six packs to boost sales, and maybe a pair of pink coveralls for the guys pretending to be mechanics.

Yeah I’ve read the constitution, and federslist papers, and democracy in America from 1836, and also 1984. Compare and contrast as the professor would say.

I’ve seen a lot of delusional posers get washed up and thrown out over the years

Nobody was sorry to see them gone

I have a problem with the concept of woke. What does it mean exactly?

There are surely additional identifiers, but @Purebred provided some helpful info:

That ‘new meaning’ has been created by the far right, often based on made up events. And the ‘book burners’ (book banners) I’m familiar with in Texas are 100% far right.

@cdaquila - this whole line of ‘woke’ discussion will go nowhere good, please delete it.

I’m enjoying this discussion

I still think Jaguar may be in big trouble

Exactly who and what do they want to be . . . ?!

Sure, it makes sense to sell EVs

But is it necessary to throw out everything and start fresh?

It’s an ongoing situation, IMO. When Jaguar first got into hot water, Ford bought them out, but after 9 years of poor sales figures, Ford sold-out to Tata, of India.

Tata has clearly not been able to improve the reliability of either Jaguar or Rover vehicles, and I think that they are just not fully competent to make decisions that will make Jaguar viable. I think that they’re just blundering from one bad decision to the next bad decision.

Around here, that describes conservative organizations like Moms for Liberty. They have a serious interest in banning books in schools.

So, is everyone woke? This reminds me of Jeff Foxworthy’s You might be a Redneck if… schtick. By his telling, everybody has a little redneck in them. After listening to a few of his shows, I’m certain that I’m one.

Jag went from around 20,000 vehicles sold when Ford took over to over 100,000/yr. When they bought the company they compared a fresh off the line XK sedan with a UK market Ford sedan and while Jaguar used nicer Leather and interrior trim the build quality wasn’t even close. Some of the Ford era Jag’s were too closely related to ordinary Fords to be taken seriously. Land Rover was always the real prize.

The Jaguar S-Type was essentially the same as the Lincoln LS, in terms of the platform, suspension, and some engines. It was rather hard to take it seriously as a Jaguar.

That and the X-Type were the ones I had in mind.

That’s why Saab wouldn’t use GM parts and procedures when GM bought them. Saab didn’t want to cheapen the product. Put Saab out of business too
