Is it possible to move a driver seat back

With my driver seat back all the way in my 2020 Outlander while I’m ok with it, I am wondering is it possible to move it back more by unbolting the seat and bolting it farther back or are seats bolted into only that one position and without major modifications unable to be moved back any more?

Probably it is difficult to do this, they usually don’t have multiple mounting locations.

While it may be possible to drill additional holes to move the seat farther back, you will likely have great difficulty finding a shop that would do the work.

Legal liability for the shop to modify the car is a big risk for the shop.

At a automotive fabrication shop for enough money yes…

There is a company that makes replacement seat tracks for many cars that give more legroom. Dont remember their name though. In the past.I have made adapters out of 1/4 " bar stoch with holes at the original bolt loaction to bo;t doen the bar and rearward locations to have bolts going up to the seat.

extendmyseat.com offers custom seat mount brackets for many vehicles that relocate the seat adjuster back up to 6 inches for more leg room. There is no listing for Mitsubishi vehicles.

Keep in mind that your side airbags might not be as effective if the seat is further back than designed.

I think that you’re thinking of side curtain airbags, in which case you would be correct. Also, the airbag contained in the hub of the steering wheel would be less effective if the seat is moved back further than how the manufacturer designed it.

The side airbags are contained in the side of the seatback, and the position of the seat shouldn’t affect their deployment.

The side curtain air bag extends from the A pillar to after the C pillar:

There is only one unit for each side:
