How do you shut off the CHANGE OIL LIGHT on a 2000 Chev Impala?
You open the owner’s manual and follow the directions.
The directions will say something to the effect of: turn the key to the run position (all dash lights on); press the accelerator pedal to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds.
It doesn’t always seem to work. Sometimes you need to stay at it.

“Chev Impala did this part right.”
I don’t agree. What if you want to upgrade the radio to HD or plug in an iPod?
IMHO - there isn’t a thing that’s right about GM & its oil life system - including this stupid warning light & its reset modes.
And as keith notes the “right” (presumably) way only works with the DE 100 series radio. I’m guessing that for all others its the accelerator pedal.
