I am an intern at a consulting company, and I am tasked with researching how to perform a benchtop download, or a download outside of a vehicle, to a Bendix ESP EC80 Controller. I have tried looking into the service manual online, but I have had trouble finding how to connect it to a laptop or computer. We have a Nexiq USB Link-2, which connects most car diagnostics systems through OBD2 or other pin connectors, but I don’t know what adapter or plug I need to use to connect the Bendix EC80 to the Nexiq. I have found the unsealed connector housing and the wire terminals for the EC80 on its service manual, but I don’t know what wires are used with them. I’m also not sure whether I’m going down the right track or what other solutions are there. Any and all advice is appreciated.
Here is the link I found to the most recent version of the service manual:

Seems this is an air brake abs controller. Large trucks use these, not cars. This is a car forum… so unlikely you will find the information here.
Is there some reason you cannot contact Bendix corporate directly looking for this answer?

I’m seeking answers in a couple of places, but I also thought that in as big of a public forum as this I could get an answer quickly. But thanks, and I’ll try posting more on truck forums too.
Page 33 shows where the J1939 connectors are. That would be the communication point for the controller. Earlier pages show the pin locations for sensors, power, grounds ignition ect. Look to Nexus’ literature to find their pinouts. Search J1939 for the format and software to communicate or buy Bendix’s software listed in the document and follow their recommendations for connecting.

The first thing is to see if you have a PC to J1393 interface cable. Then you need to download the software to the PC and then connect the PC to the CAN bus in the Bendix unit. According to the manual on page 16 you initiate the reconfiguration with the blink code switch or a PC based diagnostic tool. I’m guessing you will use the PC based tool. The Bendix ACOM PRO diagnostics software manual might give you more insight.
Edit: I forgot to add a link to some useful information.
