Honda Pilot Squeaking Noise

I have a 2003 Honda Pilot. The car has been making some squeaking noise for a while. It sounds like metal grinding noise from the back. I thought it is brake, but the pads and rotors were replaced not long ago.

When I step on the brake, the noise goes away. It also does not have the noise when I turn or starting out. It is there most of the time, but some times I can drive for a while without the noise.

Other than the noise, the car seems to be operating fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I Don’t Know About A “Metal Grinding Noise,” But Would You Buy A “Creaking” Door Seal ? It’s Hard To Say Without Hearing What You’re Hearing.

Some 2003 Pilot owners have complained about creaking door seals (any doors). Honda issued a bulletin to help technicians with replacement of the seals.

When the noise starts, maybe somebody stationed in the back seat could try applying inward or outward pressure on a door to see if that alters the noise in an attemp to locate it.

Jack up the back of the car and spin the rear wheels. Anything? (Keep your body parts out from under there if you do this and don’t have jack stands to use).

You said pads and rotors were replaced not long ago. I assume that you mean in the rear. Take it to whomever did the brakes, report the symptoms, and ask them to check. Any shop should re-inspect their work at no charge.

Why do you assume the Rear?? I’d assume just the opposite.

From the OP - “sounds like metal grinding noise from the back”
