Hard starting 98 camaro

Most of the time my 98 3.8L camaro is hard to start if it has been off for 5 minutes or longer. If I depress the gas pedal a little it will start. This happens about 80% of the time. It doesn’t matter if the temperature is hot or cold. I’ve tried turning the ignition on for 15 seconds prior to starting but this does not help. Any help?

Sounds like an Idle Air Valve control problem.

Is the check engine light on? How many miles?

The idle air control valve has been changed but did not help with starting.

No engine light on and just turned 90,000 miles.

The spark plugs should probably be replaced. Moden plugs last about 100K and could act up once they start to cool.

The plugs were changed at 75,000 miles.
