But realize the oil economy is heavily subsidized, and our gas is not taxed as much as most developed countries that are on top of their infrastructure. Gas in Holland is $8-10/gallon, highest anywhere, but every inch (centimeter) of their roads are top notch. Helps that they have no mountains and almost no snow/freezing, but still.
