I have a picture of a part by my gas tank in a 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis. It’s leaking gas.
When i run the heat or AC it smells like gas. And if it sits for a while, it has a hard time starting. No dash lights though.
It sort of looks like something associated with the evap system, maybe the charcoal canister. Doesn’t matter what it is, the leak must be stopped asap as it presents a car-fire hazard…
It is a fuel filter but the leak may be the lines and not the filter. Since you asked this question and leaking gas is dangerous, I advise you to take it to a well rated independent auto repair shop. Now, don’t wait.
No disrespect but if you are asking if a fuel filter is a fuel pressure regulator, then you should not attempt to DIY, gasoline is highly flammable and can be very dangerous…
Anytime gas is leaking it is advised to have the vehicle towed to a shop…
