Not only that, Mike, but Hondas built at the Marion, Ohio plant, and sold in the US are not the same cars. There are 2 sizes of Accords, for example, one for North America, Australia and the narrower size for Japan, Europe and other countries with narrow streets and tihgt parking spots! Same is true for Toyotas. There is a whole engineering department dedicated to creating Hondas for North America; the Titan truck is not even sold in Japan.
In an age of globilization, who really cares where the company is headquartered, as long as they make good products and employ local talent. All Japanese carmakers have design studios in the US.
