Ford Fusion Fuse Panel Access

Does anyone know the correct way to remove the dash access panel under the steering column on a '07 Ford Fusion? From what little info I can find doing a web search it appears you just pull on it to remove it. It didn’t seem like that was the correct way to do it when I tried it and I didn’t want to break anything by really pulling hard on it. We are trying to access the dash fuse panel behind the panel.

From what I looked up, there is no fuse panel behind the trim panel below the steering column. You don’t usually have to go to this extent to gain access to a fuse panel.

Ford likes to put them in the passenger kick panel lately. I suspect that the OP’s owner’s manual would tell them where the fuse box(es) is(are).

Thanks for the replies fellas. Here is what the Owners Manual states:

Passenger compartment fuse panel.
The fuse panel is located below and to the left of the steering wheel by
the brake pedal. Remove the panel cover to access the fuses.

The fuse panel must be there but I am a little baffled on how to get to it.
