And you said that you are older than me (I’m 55)?

Man, I’m “old”…

..in the head, that is!

With my mindset, I could wake up in 1972, or '58, and wouldn’t give things a second thought, lol!

ZZ Top has a few…

I thought you were too young to be familiar with New Riders.

Dig through the ditches and burn through the witches and slam in the back of my Dragula!

Holy cow. And reportedly Rob Zombie doesn’t even do drugs. He’s obviously just weird in other ways. But when that song comes on I surely turn it up. And sometimes watch the video for some good comedy. He’s surely entertaining.

Dangerous song while I’m driving though. It makes me a little too…uh…maniacal? (The squares call it “aggressive driving”).

Remember, I have alluded to the possibility of being a ‘slider’.

It was also the name of a television show 20 or 30 years ago about the same subject.

I’m surprised it’s not here yet, but for my money favorite car song has to be Low Rider, though maybe tied with Dragula:

Another vote for “Highway Star” by Deep Purple.

This one’s in my top ten list. Original from Charlie Ryan or the Commander Cody cover.

Hot Rod Lincoln I presume?

:+1:

Car race related, a really tear-jerker from back in “my day”(!):

“Tell Laura I Love Her” Ray Peterson.

When I was working on a few active ride programs in the early 90s, we searched for Low Rider so we could play that CD when we demoed the car - a Cadillac Seville and an Opel Senator.

We could not find a recording anywhere back then.

Active ride is the hydraulically adjusted springs to lift or lower the car or keep it flat in corners and under braking. We’d park the car on its bumpstops and raise it when the engine started powering the hydraulic pump. We wanted to play the song at startup!

By the way, best low speed cruising song ever.

Okay, I will have to post it, guess I’m classified as really old!

Low Rider would have played often in this car. I like the bombs best.

IMO, that’s a terrible thing to have done to a beautiful Packard.

Probably still has the original engine though. I’m not fond of the outside sun visor, but the rest of the car looks like an original Model 12 except for the fender skirts.

Here’s another one:

Highway to Hell by AC/DC. I heard a great cover yesterday by Tom Morello with Bruce Springsteen and Eddie Vedder. Outstanding.

Ride of the Valkyries – Night on Bald Mountain – In the Hall of the Mountain King –
Oh Lord won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz

I like Gold by John Stewart and Running Down a Dream. The Beatles had a line about baby you could drive my car.
