Just wanted to mention that the answer given on the 9/22 Car Talk regarding Ford Explorer Locks ws somewhat misleading, although the suggestion to visit the Ford Dealer was a good one. The locks for that vintage Explorer are controlled by the security module located in the rear of the vehicle. Seems most likely that that module was over-heating and causing the problem. The module is located in the rear quarter panel in front of the jack storage area.
