Hello everyone, I drive a 2002 Honda Accord, 4-Cyl, LX, 5-speed manual. Its a great car, but its missing one thing that (I know this sounds trifling) I really would like. I’d like the dome lamp to fade out when I shut the door, and turn on when I remove the key (before I open the door). My car has a keyless entry that when I unlock it from the remote the dome light turns on (kinda pointless because no one is in the car), but then just shuts off when I get in and close it. Now the EX model of this car does have this feature where the dome light fades out. Is there a specific part or module that I can pull from an E model car in a junkyard (or buy from honda) that will add this feature? As a side note, I’ve found many circuits online that I can build to add, but I’d rather find the exact part from honda that will add it. Thanks,

When the light comes on, it serves to verify your assumption.
Many cars perform this control via a Body Control Module (BCM). This could be a simple mod or it might be very complex depending on how they wired up the car for various options. I’d suggest posting your question to a specific Honda Accord forum for the best results. The option you’re interested in is called Theater Dimming.
