Chrysler 62te trans

Can you use a fluid recovery tube down trans dipstick to evac fluid? Used on 2012 Chrysler t&c van. Is there a screen of any kind at bottom that prevents sucking out fluid? I know you can get a tube in but do not know if it goes deep enough to suck fluid. Used to work on gm 4t60E where I got 1 gal out.

Nope. There’s a bracket at bottom of “dipstick” tube. It would block a suction hose. I think a small flexible hose in 1/4” dia might wiggle past bracket.

Is there a reason you don’t want to drop the pan?

I wanted to do a partial fluid exchange. I just checked with my 3/8” tube with motor off and tube had almost 2” of fluid indicated. You can make a dipstick and mark it to indicate fluid level with motor running.

I thought you could buy dipsticks for those from the dealer…

I got 2.25 qts out which is better than nothing. Also might help reduce mess when I drop pan.
