I have just equipped my 2007 Charger R/T with a Corsa Cat-Back exhaust, but have developed a drone when the car drops from 8 to 4 cylinders. As long as I take it manually out of overdrive the exhaust sounds fine, but when 4 cylinders kick in for purpose of economy my exhaust develops and irritating drone.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thx.
You have discovered one of two things. Either the aftermarket exhaust is optimized for something other than “no drone” or the aftermarket engineers have spent a lot less time on design than Chrysler did. Could be a little of both.
