One of the possible locations for the CD changer for my 2004 Mercury Sable in the Owner’s Manual said right side cargo area storage compartment. Is that the back of the wagon?

I’m sure it’s a multi disc storage and play back system location. Seems like there is little space and protection offered delicate CDs in the near passenger compartment.My feeling is that CDs are so difficult to handle, it might be safest to keep them out of reach of the driver anyway. Personally, I like snapping a thumb drive into a USB port and play from a choice of 600 plus of my own organized music. I doubt there is much fidelity lost playing music in the interior of a 2004 Sable not using CDs. At least enough of we tone deaf old geezers can’t appriciate the difference to warrent it as standard equipment.
