I use an iPhone, on Safari I get the jumping as ads come and go, but no redirection. I use DDG to avoid the jumping/ads.
You’re misreading me:
I don’t mind ads. I do mind X-ing or Skipping out and being taken to the vendor, but at least I know that it’s the ad developer’s issue, not CarTalk.
Somehow, they manage to get by with less than 10% of the advertising displayed here.
There have been at least 6 discussions here dealing with the advertising overload and the workarounds to defeat them.
There was a firmware update two weeks ago that corrected some year-old faults and brought some new ones.
The good news, the reply box is no longer blocked by advertising, allowing the user to be able to read what they type and to be able to select the “reply” button when finished. That problem took 5 years to resolve.
And you complain about a lawn mower engine comment once in a while?
No more lawn mower ads.

I use an iPad, iPad and iPhone both use iOS, and should behave similarly. Duck Duck Go is the browser I use here and almost everywhere. In addition to blank space where ads go, DDG also erases browsing history every time you close it. It also keeps my IP address private. When I go to a website that tries to locate me, they are always wrong. One uses Scottsdale, AZ, another Northern NJ, and another Northwest DC.
In The US almost 60% of the cellphones in use are Apple I-phones.
Why would you think that the people in this forum differ so much from that statistic that you are the only forum member using one of those devices?
You can do the same thing with Microsoft Edge…it’s in the security settings
What is “DDG”?
While I don’t like acronym usage Duck Duck Go web browser has been mentioned numerous times.
Maybe read more and post less.
Yupers, DDG = Duck Duck Go, almost every thread on here in over a year that has mentioned ads has mentioned DDG in them…
Thank you.
A lot of times with acronyms, owing to my circumstances, the acronym is the first instance of something I see. That’s primarily why I ask what does such n such mean.
UPDATE:
I was able to get hold of a family member ‘s Apple device ( IPhone ) and I used it here to test if I would experience the troublesome redirecting to virusblocker.life.
Interestingly, the issue hasn’t occurred and I noticed the ads did not bump or jump the phone like they do on my iPhone.
The redirecting, however, is happening less on my phone ( got only two of them so far ).
it seems like my phone is the issue but I don’t know why.
That is what people have been trying to tell you. Why not just buy a cheap PC just for web browsing ?
Here are a couple of articles to help you research the problem a bit more.
How about we just forget it. I was looking at a grass seed post on Kentucky 31, and it got me in the circular deal. Wouldn’t let me leave until I just closed everything out. No virus, just tricky ads. They’ll try anything for money making clicks.

While Apple devices seem to be less prone to picking-up viruses and other types of malware, anyone who thinks that they are immune from those problems is very naive.
And, as to the “Genius Bar” at Apple’s retail locations, I think that the FTC should bar them from making that spurious claim for their sometimes barely-average employees.
I am interested in getting to the root of this problem. It may be something we can all learn from.
I’m now getting redirected to Trojanwall.click aggressively only on this forum.
I decided to check Reddit users to see if anyone experiencing this issue and here is what they’re saying: Reddit - The heart of the internet
The strange thing about this issue is that only CarTalk redirects me to these malicious websites. No other places do. I can search the whole web and no issues but the moment I access CarTalk this is happening.
I’ve gotten redirected to Trojanwall.click about 20 times since today.
I guess having your phone looked at has not occurred to you or just stop going web sites that annoy you.
