All I can say is that I have not had that happen to me. I do get advertisements for mcafee on othe social media.
It’s NOT cartalk. You have a Virus. Get a REAL antivirus like Nordon or even Microsoft’s defender.
What does nslookup show for the cartalk.com site?
Here’s what I get below.
$ nslookup www.cartalk.com
Server: 127.0.0.53
Address: 127.0.0.53#53Non-authoritative answer:
Name: www.cartalk.com
Address: 23.22.46.136
Name: www.cartalk.com
Address: 52.200.213.203
Cartalk is hosted on an Amazon cloud server. But it would be good to see what IP address your system thinks cartalk.com is.
I agree with MikeInNH that you have a real virus.
Your 2nd image says McAfee is reporting a “Key Logger” virus.
Here’s an overview what a key logger virus means, cut-n-pasted from a quick search:
When McAfee says “keylogger,” it’s referring to a type of malware that secretly records your keystrokes, essentially logging everything you type. This logged information, which can include passwords, credit card details, and other sensitive data, is then sent to a remote attacker, who can use it for malicious purposes like identity theft or financial fraud.
My phone does not have a virus.
I’m being redirected to those websites then being suggested to purchase their virus services.
It only happens on CarTalk and no where else.
Yes it does .
Your first image says “trojanwalk.click”.
This site may help you:
I get on Car talk on a laptop, chrome book and phone, never have a problem getting redirected
Ditto
Whether or not the OP wants to accept reality, his device is infected with at least one virus.
I am on this site a LOT… lol
If there was an award for being here the most, I would be a top candidate for it, and the award would be called Get A Life…
Never been redirected from tis site…
Hi @Clueless33 I am sorry but I have not seen this happen. I think the feedback you’ve gotten may point you in the direction of the problem.
The web has lots of articles about the popup things that look like official Norton or McAfee security sites. I actually took my PC back to square one as if I was going to donate or sell. There may be an easier way but it cleared the problem. I have no idea why Clueless 33 would think that Cartalk would do that on purpose .
I hav3 been redirected once or twice but can’t say which site. At any rate it was from clicking on an ad. Didn’t go any farther, trying to collect info. I don’t know which computer, but I think my desk top, gave me that red warning. Do nut shut your computer off, call this number, etc. etc. shut down completely and that was it. Scams scams scams. Son says ya all will be hit eventually. Grandson generated $17,000 in in gift cards but they got it back. I always had a problem with apple when they infiltrated the schools and weren’t compatible with anyone else. But now I think they are a lot safer and never had to pay my guy $250 to set it up like my HP, or whatever it is. Hold the new device next to the old devise and everything transfers.
Hello Mod. I’ve done a thorough scan on my iPhone and no virus.
I spoke to Apple about this and this is what they said:
“ Just to give you an idea, the redirect to virusblocker.life is likely caused by a malicious JavaScript exploit or adware-like behavior embedded in the site you’re visiting (in this case, CarTalk). It’s not a virus in the traditional sense, but it’s definitely unwanted and potentially risky. In this case, next thing you can do is to go to Settings > Apps > Safari > Advanced > toggle JavaScript off“
However, when I turned off JavaScript, CarTalk functionality is disabled, not allowing me to log in
Of course not that I think Cartalk did this on purpose. Come on now, you truly looking out for unnecessary drama.
I brought this to the attention of CarTalk because that’s what I see everyone else doing when they have a problem with the site!
SMH.
6 months to a year ago, I would sometimes experience a McAfee virus scan full screen take over. At that time, I would just close the tab. There were a lot of ad complaints at that time, I believe George brought these things up many times.
That’s what happening to me now. And sadly, very frequently. So I might have to give the site a break until the issue is resolved.
I’m currently talking to Apple about this. We have performed numerous steps in hope to solve the issue so far but no luck. It’s only happening on this platform.
@Clueless33:
When you visit this site, are you visiting http://www.cartalk.com, or are you visiting https://www.cartalk.com?
Either way, let’s confirm the IP address your iPhone thinks this site is at.
On your iPhone, if you pull up your normal web browser and go to this site:
In there, go to the DNS Lookup, which is under IP Tools.
Then enter https://www.cartalk.com and see what it returns for IP addresses.
It should return both 52.200.213.203 and 23.22.46.136.
Are you getting those?
Thanks for reaching out, Mario.
Yes, those IP addresses I get when I checked.
Also, I’m accessing: https://www.cartalk.com.
The issue happens when the ads on this forum keep flicking or switching. I can hear a sound from the ads acting up on this forum.
Once the ads flicks, I’m pushed off this site to virusblocker.life.
I’ve visited numerous other websites to check if this happens else where and it doesn’t.
