i have a 1988 jeep wagoneer and it wont start it dosent make any noise when i turn the ignition and the lights or nothing wont come on can someone tell me if its the starter or what it is

its a brand new battery could it be the the positive cable it seems like nothing is getting any juice
[b]The vehicle is old enough where replacing the cable is not only cheap, but probably needs it if never done.

[b]No. The Park/neutral safety switch just prevents the starter from operating.
You have no power to anything. So think of it as, the battery’s still disconnected.
