Car jerks when I change gears

I just noticed that my Honda Accord V6 jerks when I change gear .the mechanic told me it could be the engine seating.pls I need advice here.

Did he say that your motor mounts and/ or trans mounts needed to be replaced? Have another mechanic confirm that suggestion, and then get it done. Not a good idea to avoid that type of repair.

Since you said I and not it, does that mean this is a manual shifted transmission, or does that mean when you move the gearshift lever to reverse or drive, or does this mean while in drive with an automatic as the transmission is changing gears??

You have Odyssey at the top and Accord in the thread…

What is the year make and model, transmission type and mileage of your vehicle as well as a better description of what it is doing…

I believe it’s a manual based on this wording and sentence structuring:

when I change gear

If he had said it, then he would have added an S to change. It changes.

But since he used I, a singular, it makes sense there was no S added to change

No, I’m not teaching English. I suck at it as it’s not my native tongue. Just highlighting where OP said he/she drives a manual. :+1:

P.s. i just recall I change gears in my automatic Lexus all the time. So who knows :person_shrugging:

If you mean it jerks when you shift from reverse to drive, the motor and transmission mounts should be inspected for wear.
