is a 98 caddy deville with 200k the battery seems fine the car runs great. the battery reads 14.4 volts. just once in a while it wont turn over
When you turn the ignition key to START do you hear ANYTHING? If not, the starter solenoid is not being energized. The problem could be anywhere in that circuit—from the battery to the ignition switch, neutral safety switch, starter solenoid. A voltage check, for 12 volts, needs to be done, starting at the battery cable, to the ignition switch, and on to the starter. Got multimeter/technician?
How old is the battery? What is the voltage at the battery with the engine off? I am assuming that 14.4 volts is measured with the engine running.
