Can you help me ID this vehicle?

There was recently a crime in my neighborhood. Detectives are trying to ID the vehicle but the best security footage we have only shows the top of the car. Any eagle eye car experts who can help point me in the right direction?

to small and to much glare.

From the 3 windows on the side, it’s a minivan or SUV.

Perhaps, but–IMHO–that very poor-quality pic makes it close to impossible to identify the exact make and model of the vehicle.

Here’s a full picture view. Looking for the moving vehicle just above the fence line.

Oh that’s a tough one lol.

Looks like it may be an Acura RDX but don’t quote me on that!

The fence is in the way. It’s hard to tell anything except that it’s an SUV.

… or possibly a minivan.

Thank y’all for taking a look. I knew it would be difficult but thought I’d take a chance. Many thanks!

So it is red, and it has a center brake light. The back end curves down a bit, which is the biggest thing you have to go on. Next thing would be to drive possible matches along the same path and see if the height is the same or not. Also the length of the roof.

The first image shows the exact shape of the rear glass in the back.

Does not appear to me that it has a rain catch ledge above the rear glass, like Jeep Grand Cherokee and other SUVs have. Edit: actually it does, if you look up close in the 3rd picture the left side of the rain ledge can be seen.

Not a Ford Explorer.
Probably not an Escape even though the glass looks similar, they mostly have roof racks, and they don’t have the rain ledge. Does the slope match? I can’t tell.
Not a Honda CR-V
Not Acura - the Acura rear window wiper is on the left, unless the h264 video compression removed it from the pictures and it’s there.
2010 Crysler Town & Country / Grand Caravan? The rear glass and the rain ledge is a match. The back slopes down just a little, much like this picture. The window wiper is on the right. Not all of them have roof racks. Possible match based on what I’ve seen. Next step is to find one and drive it to that exact spot to do some measurements and compare pictures taken from the exact same camera.
Not 2010 Honda Odyssey - the rear window isn’t quite right.

The sloping roof isn’t a feature of minivans IMO.

Thank you for this analysis. Do you think Dodge Caliber or Nissan Murano are possibilities?

Not a Caliber, no black roof trim. Could be early Murano, or a dozen other vehicles.

What’s the thinking on the CR-V?

An eyewitness who saw the vehicle believed it was an older model Honda CR-V (like 2001 or so). This is just based on body type not on seeing the actual logos.

Any other similar models to the early 2000s CR-Vs that could reconcile this eyewitness account with this limited video footage?

Early CRV has light behind the rear window in the hatch, not above it, and lights on both roof pillars, along with a flat roof.

Talked to the eyewitness who originally thought CR-V.

He said he thought it could actually be an older model Mazda. Any Mazda that might fit that description and match the photos?

For our sharp eyed members. The first photo is just enlarged, the second is lightened, and the third is lightened a lot, possibley showing some detail not visible in the original. Unfortunately, there is a fence across the yard and it obscures most of the vehicle.

Is there a video?

The older CRV’s had the spare on the hatch-if the owner still kept it!
If it is a CRV, based on the roof slope, it would be a 2007-2011 gen CRV.
