Can anyone identify the make and model of this car? Theft

The guy in this car was out stealing and the image quality is bad. Is anyone here freakishly good at IDing cars? He’s been terrorizing the whole city.

My first impression is a Toyota Echo.

I imagine that the police were notified by the owner when the theft was realized. When the police see this footage and compare it to the location of the camera and the theft report they will have a correlation. The most they get out of it is that they know the direction the car was heading.

My 1st thought was a Plymouth Sundance…

Is this in the USA or across the pond??

I’m thinking more recent than either one of those, but nothing’s coming to mind. Any other shots of it coming or going?

Has the side moldings that goes around the bumper also like an old Cavalier, but the Cavalier didn’t have that big of a C pillar like the old Sundance had… but it is very hard to tell in that picture…

I am thinking the aspect ratio of this picture might be distorted. The car may look shorter in length than it actually is. That two car garage looks pretty small. I think the picture is slightly squished in the horizontal direction.

I stretched the picture out 40%:

Now it looks like a 1st gen Lumina… lol

I thought the same thing…

Because the photo was taken at night and the security camera was not built to take good photos of moving objects, I think the image of the car is affected by this movement. Notice that the tires and wheels are not round but a bit elliptical (higher than they are wide). So when you look at the car, imagine it being longer…

I have edited the original photo and lengthen a bit it each time a small percentage. The editing of the photo did not affect anything except the width of the photo of the car.

Image number 1 is the original. Now does the vehicle look like a familiar model?

Hi Dave, its in the USA. I have more pics but I’m new to the forum so I could only upload one

I can only upload 1 file at a time cause I’m new to the forum, I have a few more pics.

Here is another angle, I will include another shot from the same night in the neighborhood next to us that got him stealing mail out of their mailbox too.

This is far away, but it gives an idea of the tail light design.

1990’s era Chevy Lumina?

Hard to tell with the distortion from the headlights and brake lights, looks like a Buick Century.

I really think you nailed it!!! For how many hours I’ve spent looking at it it really adds up. Thank you so much! Now I just got to find the year

That style was manufactured from 1997 to 2005.

The Buick Regal is similar but should have alloy wheels:
