I have a 2002 VW Passat (5 speed manual). It started making a swishing type noise during acceleration. My regular maintenance guy tells me it’s “boost leak” but he isn’t able to locate it.
Now what do I do???

Has the car’s performance or driveability been affected in ANY way?
Noises DO NOT COUNT unless they’re intollerable. A swish is not intollerable.
We (being members of this forum) aren’t going to be able to nail down a diagnosis from thousands of miles away from you and your car with the only resported symptom being “a swishing noise”. I’m not scolding you, I’m just being frank. =)
Is this model a turbo? Any other problems to report? Anything useful to know?
And as I asked, have their been any performance, running condition or driveability issues?
