'94 miata (60,000) clutch is mushy

RECENTLY THE CLUTCH FLUID WAS LOW AND THE CLUTCH ENGAGED SLOSER TO THE FLOOR. I TOPPED IT OFF AND FOR 3 MONTHS IS HAS BEEN FINE. THE FUID IS STILL AT MAX, BUT THE PEDDLE IS @ 2+" WHEN IT ENGAGES. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Have the master or slave cylinder rebuilt or replaced. In some cases it may pay to replace the clutch at the same time, but unless you are hard on it 60,000 miles is a young clutch in that car.

Even though the fluid level is OK, there could be an internal leak preventing the clutch from disengaging fully. Are you noticing any problems shifting? Especially into reverse?
