2018 Dodge Durango - Touch screen options

Radio touch screen goes crazy. Replacing it cost $2,500. Any cheeper alternative? Thanks

Check with places like Best Buy, Crutchfield…

There have been software updates for the radio. here are just a couple.
I would check with a different dealer and see if there is an update for the problems you are having.

I swear I can’t get used to radios having software updates… :man_facepalming:

Just wait until you have a vehicle that puts this message on the screen as you pull into the grocery store parking lot. ( Do not shut car off - updating will take about 20 minutes )

A few days ago, I was surprised to see a notice on my screen stating “Software update for Navigation and Voice Recognition is available. Do you wish to do it now?”.

I chose to do it right away, and after I chose “yes”, the next notice told me that it would update whether the vehicle was turned on, or not. In any event, it had finished the download by the time that I reached Costco–about a 15 minute drive.

I suspect that some over-the-air updates might take longer, and it is also possible that the car can’t be shut off until the some downloads are completed, but I haven’t yet experienced that type of situation.

I get update requests from Tesla every month or so. I see it when I first use the car that day. They offer to do it now or at a more convenient time. They suggest 2:30am but I can choose the time.

I think I’ve only gotten 3 update requests in the 19 months that I’ve owned the vehicle, but–like you–they give me the option of delaying it to a specific time that I can select.
