My cruise control just stopped working - possible causes
one possibility that happened to me: the brake light switch which causes the brake light to go on when you hit the brakes, also turns off the cruise control. The switch could be broken or a wire disconnected. First thing to check is if the brake lights go on when the pedal is pressed.

If any of the brake light bulbs don’t work, neither will the cruise control.
If the brake lights work, try slipping the toe of your left foot under the brake pedal, and pull up on the brake pedal when engaging the cruise.
If the cruise works, the brake pedal switch may need adjustment/replacement.
