Twice now when I had driven over 40 miles after starting on an incline at a red light the car would not go over 20 mph and I had it floored. When I got on flat driving area the car started to improve speed. When I drive short jaunts this doesn’t happen
It sounds like whatever the problem is, the symptoms manifest only when the engine is fully warmed up. The first step for this sort of problem is to check for diagnostic codes stored in the engine’s and transmission’s computer memories. Has that been done yet? Is the check engine light on? Mighty be worthwhile to ask your shop for a fuel-trim test, some sort of problem with air/ fuel mixture.
Do you have a check engine light (CEL) on?? If so then what is the code, if not check it anyway for pending codes…
I would guess the transmission is failing.
Yep, if the engine is revving up but the speed isn’t increasing, it could be another failed Nissan CVT.
+1
But, I suppose that a clogged catalytic converter is also a possibility. However, the OP hasn’t yet told us whether the CEL is lit-up, so…
OP also didn’t say if the engine is revving up or bogging down or…
But no response in 8 days, I’m calling it a 1 and done poster…
I hadn’t noticed that previously, but I think that you are right.
But, perhaps she will return in an overly-wordy post, and tell us that she has been bouncing in the seat in order to try to fix the problem.
