2014 Nissan Juke whines above 40 mph

When the Juke accelerates over 40mph there is a whining sound and struggles to reach higher speeds.

Could easily be transmission related. Nissan has a history of problems with CVT automatic transmissions and in some cases has extended the warranty. Contact a Nissan dealer to see if it applies to yours.

CVT and an automatic transmission are not the same thing. Also, the Juke didn’t come with a CVT anyway. @mcevaddy how many miles are on your Juke and when was the ATF changed last?

There could actually be more than one problem. The whining sound could be the result of failing wheel bearings, or badly-worn tires, or a transmission problem, or…
Struggling to reach higher speeds could be the result of a clogged catalytic converter, or low compression, or a lack of maintenance, or…

Since you didn’t mention the Check Engine Light, I have to assume that it is not lit-up.
Or… is it?

I strongly suggest that you get this ailing vehicle to a qualified mechanic (that means NOT going to Midas, Meineke, Monro, Sears, Pep Boys, Firestone, or AAMCO, or a tire store) so that he can diagnose the problem(s).

Oh, puhlease. A CVT is a type of automatic transmission. Also,
