2011 Toyota Camry - Alarm issues

My car alarm is going off for no apparent reason, my “hood open” message comes on when I drive–the hood is NOT open, and my Maintenance Required light did not come on, telling me I was due for oil change.

You probably have a bad hood sensor, which would account for the dash warning and the alarm.

If your Camry is anything like my 2009 Corolla the service indicator should come on every 5000 miles. I’ve been told it’s actually a tire rotation reminder but I use it for oil changes too. I don’t know why the light wouldn’t come on when it’s supposed to but maybe the bulb or LED is bad or disconnected somehow?

Thanks for the info–that doesn’t sound terribly hard or expensive to fix.
I appreciate the advice.
Thanks again!
