I have a 2011 Sorento LX AWD 4 cylinder autotomatic with just under 14,000 miles. Twice in the last couple weeks I have been unable to shift into park. The hill descent assist and traction control lights come on and I can’t move the shifter past neutral. If I restart the car in neutral the lights go off and I can put it in park. Anyone have any ideas?
Yes. Take it back to where you bought it and have it fixed. Its under warranty.

Took it in yesterday. Brake interlock safety switch was bad and is being replaced.
Glad to hear it. Count yourself a bit lucky. Often for intermittent problems what you get is “well, we couldn’t find anything wrong…” Hopefully this will be the end of the problem for you.
