My DBC & ESC lights seem to come on every few days. When that happens and I pull over and try to put the car in park, it will only sift into neutral. I then put on the emergency brake and turn off. Sometimes, I can restart and have no problem until the day or so. Checked Consumer complaints & this comes up quite a bit, so you’d think any KIA dealer would know about it. They don’t. I’ve been told by mechanic unless I can bring it in while it’s having the problem, they can’t check it. And on the consumer complaint logs, no one ever goes back to tell you what the problem was…
Seems as if the fix is to replace the brake light switch. This makes sense as to why you can not put it in Park.
