My car (2011 Hyundai i20) makes a squeaky noise randomly from time to time after going over a bunch of speed bumps. The suspension is still fresh and I found from my research that the problem might be related to the bushing of the stabilizer bar. The noise can be especially heard when accelerating after a stop and goes away after picking up speed. What do you think the problem could be?
Suspension system link problems pretty common by reports here. Not just on your car, but many newer cars. Ask your shop to put car on their lift and poke/prod/twist on the suspension system gadgets. They may be able to spot the problem. Before doing that try to narrow down what driving conditions it happens and where it seems to be coming from, left vs right, fore vs aft etc. That will help reduce the amount of diagnostic labor time.
The sway bar bushings would be the first place I would check.
Tester
I will add to @Tester 's advice below that the suspension on an 11 year old car is hardly “still fresh”.
Do they have a “best if used by” date or something?
@Tester, except for the squeaky noise none of the other symptoms are present. The car still drives perfectly, the handling is normal and so is everything else.PS: The shock absorbers were replaced only two years ago.
To identify the area of the suspension that is making the noise, it can help to spray one component with something like WD40 or silicone. If the noise goes away, that component is causing it. If the noise persists, try spraying another component.
