2011 Chevrolet Cruze doesn’t want to increase speed on takeoff

Car seems to not want to increase speed when taking off. I4 transmission. It this normal on these cars?

No. If it doesn’t perform as it did when new, something needs diagnosis and repair.

When was the last time that the transmission was serviced???

Yosemite

Does the engine rpm increase when that happens? This is a conventional automatic transmission right?

Your vehicle has a drive-by-wire throttle system.

This means of instead of having a throttle cable between the throttle pedal and the throttle body, there’s an accelerator pedal position sensor

which tells the computer how far to open the electronic throttle body.

That’s the area I would look at.
