Odd phrasing, but your owners manual most likely explains it.
The battery management sensor is located near the battery post. Inspect the battery posts and battery sensor for corrosion damage.

Yeah it senses the state of charge of the battery or something. It’s not in the owners manual but the repair manual. When I got the light they replaced the sensor on my 2012 under warranty. So if cleaning the connections doesn’t work, trip to the dealer is in your future. On the other hand it could be telling you you have a failing battery or charging system.
