My Honda dealership says change transmission fluid every 30,00 miles. Others (Toyota) say 100,000 miles unless fluid is dirty.
What is appropriate?

Go with whatever your owners manual says. Honda’s in particular I would change every 30,000 miles and make sure you use Honda’s fluid! (I would even go to the dealership to purchase it if you’re doing it yourself to make sure you get the correct fluid. This is not a place to skimp to save a few bucks going to Autozone)
30,000 miles. Even the Acura dealer says 30,000 miles for the transmission. I argued with the service manager on oil changes saying I didn’t like the extended intervals but even they agreed with the 30K figure. I’ve had 100K or lifetime fluids before and the trusted trans shop just says no such thing. So all of us error on the 30K mark.
