how do you reset the oil monitor on the 2009 Chevy Malibu since I change the oil myself.

The owner’s manual should tell you how to do it.
Turn the key on without cranking or starting the engine and press the accelerator to the floor and release three times within five seconds. The light will normally start flashing on most models. Once you see the light flashing, or ten seconds or so after doing this, start the engine. The OLM should be reset. This procedure should work on your vehicle, as it does on most GM vehicles. Some newer models have a procedure involving using the radio to reset the OLM, which should be in the owner’s manual.
