why the speedometer cluster wont turn on
How about letting us know
The year, make, model and the mileage of your Mini???
But according to my crystal ball…you have a loose connection and the cluster will have to be pulled out to check it.

Assuming the other gauges are lit up, that means the bulb(s) for the speedometer are out
If all of the gauges aren’t lit up, you might check if the dimmer switch is turned all the way down
If the dimmer switch is in the correct position, check if there’s a blown fuse for the cluster illumination
If not, that’s a tough one . . . might have to remove the cluster to further investigate
I check the fuses and they are all good , but the speedometer and the fuel gauge don’t work
Please don’t take this the wrong way . . . but you’re really confusing me
I asked you if the gauges weren’t working, or if it was in fact the back lighting that wasn’t working
You seemed to indicate it was the back lighting
Now it seems you’re saying the gauges aren’t working
