2006 Toyota Avalon Touring

Key fob, dash button, valet switch all of these do not open my trunk. Only way is to pull the wiring once you open the cargo hole. Where do I locate the trunk module? How do I know if that is what needs replaced?

If the remote does not open the trunk, it could be something mechanical. The actuator motor could be binding or the actuator rod could have come out its clip. The only way to be sure is to remove the panel and investigate.

Lubricate the trunk lock mechanism and see if that helps. Excess friction might bind the lock and prevent it from moving. Spray lubricant directed at the pin and the space between the sliding parts of the lock may do the trick.
