look for any bad fuses or relays that say Roof Control Module or Roof Hydraulic Unit. locations will be in your owner’s manual.
It’s also almost identical to the first generation Mercedes Benz SLK roadster (1996-2004).
Unless you have significant mechanical skills, you need to have a qualfied mechanic diagnose the problem. You might want to consult with an independent foreign car specialist because–unfortunately–that model used a lot of Mercedes technology. (Translation=BIG bucks for repairs.)

Sometimes a calibration procedure is necessary if the battery has been disconnected. The process involves manually lowering the top. The video below shows how to manually raise and lower the top.
