2002 Sienna cold hard start issue

Recently though the check engine light has not yet come on, when I attempt to start the car “cold”, the motor will remain running until it is warmed up. Once warmed up, it runs well. On a rare occassion, lately it will ast up even warm but that issue is rare.

I am replying to my own question. I made a type error. When the car is cold, it will NOT start unless I keep my foot on the gas. As soon as I let up on the gas, it stalls. It will run as long as I do this till it warms up
